In this lesson, you can learn all movements of Part 5 of Chen’s Tai Chi Old Form 1, including 16 movements (movement 48 – 63).

Steps: 1. Relax the hip joints. Shift the weight to the left leg. Turn the body left. Change the right hook to the palm. Lower the right palm left in a downward curve with an opening rotation to the front of the body. Wave the left palm to the inside of the right arm in an upward curve. At the same time drag the right backward with the toes touching on the ground; 2. Turn right. Wave two arms to the right in an upward curve. Hold two arms in front of the body with the right empty stance. Look forward; 3. Lift the right leg. jump by pushing the left foot. Land and stomp two feet on the ground by left foot first, then the right foot. At the same time raise two palms quickly with opening rotations when jump. Press two palms downward with closing rotations when land the feet; 4. Lift the right knee. Cross two palms in front of the chest with opening rotations. Turn the body to the left quickly. Kick the right foot to the right side. At the same time push the right palm to the right and hit the left elbow to the left side. Hold the left palm in front of the left chest by facing the palm outward. Look to the right side; 5. Land the right foot on the ground. Shift the weight from the left leg to the right leg. Turn the body right slightly. Close two arms to each other. Place the left palm on the inside of the right arm; 6. Loosen the hip joints. Shift the weight to the right leg. Turn right. Step the left foot forward. Still hold two arms in front of the chest; 7. Step the right foot forward behind the left leg. Place the right toes on the ground. Turn the body to the right side. At the same time push the left palm forward. Push the right arm up outward in front of the right forehead (Step 5, 6 and 7 can be finished quickly and continuously. You can leap forward with the right foot in Step 5); 8. Loosen the hip joints. Turn the body to the right. At the same time wave two palms to the right.
Requirements: Relax two hip joints. Use the waist to lead and control the movements of two arms and the right leg (Step 1, 2); Jump and land on the ground coordinated by the waist. Stomp two feet and press two palms at the same time by sinking the waist internally (Step 3); Focus on the Dantian when lift the right leg and cross two arms. Loosen the left hip joint and stand on the left leg firmly. Use the explosive power from the waist to kick the right foot, push the right palm and hit the left elbow (Step 4); If you want to leap forward, Jump with the right foot as soon as land the right foot on the ground. You can push the left palm and cross two legs in the air before land (Step 5, 6, 7); Loosen two hip joints. Turn right with the left heel and right toes touching the ground (Step 8).
Applications: Block the attack with the right palm. Hit the face or chest of the opponent with the left palm. Kick the opponent with the right foot at the same time (Step 1); Hold the head of the opponent and press downward. Hit the face of the opponent with the right knee (Step 2); Jump to escape the sweep attack from the opponent. When you land you can kick the front leg of the opponent with your right foot. Push the chest or face of the opponent with two palms with explosive power (Step 3); Lift the right leg to get away from the kick attack. Block the attack with the right arm. Then kick the abdomen of the opponent with your right foot. Push the face of the opponent with the right palm. Hit the opponent behind with your left elbow (Step 4); Leap forward fast and lightly to close the opponent to attack with your left palm (Step 5, 6, 7); Hold the arm of the opponent to pull the opponent to the right with your two hands (Step 8).
